Adults 20-69:

Adulthood is characterized by a very long period of years in which numerous pathologies can arise, some of which are not treated in adolescence.

A group of very frequent pathologies are associated with wisdom teeth: wisdom teeth are dental elements that often do not have enough space to erupt in the oral cavity, or have little space and remain in a state of limbo throughout life. In the time period around 20 years they begin to be present in the life of young adults, characterizing their appearance with pain, swelling and often abscesses in the area of the lower jaw or rear jaw. A dental examination with a dental practitioner who is an expert in wisdom teeth is the first step to a correct diagnosis.
It is important that the doctor is an expert in oral surgery and wisdom teeth to properly inform the patient of the most significant aspects of their clinical condition. Dr Glauco Chisci at our center is the reference figure, with dozens of scientific publications about it. In addition, the possibility of performing an intervention in conscious sedation, with three-dimensional technology (where necessary) and advanced equipment make the procedure fast and precise.

Another pathology that is always very frequent is caries. Caries unfortunately can occur throughout the life of the adult: it is a disease with multifactorial etiology, favored by high consumption of sweet food and drinks, an individual predisposition linked to intrinsic weakness of dental tissues and poor tooth brushing. On all these elements our multidisciplinary team of dentists and dental hygienists has been implementing for years a DENTAL PREVENTION PROJECT: our team takes care of the early diagnosis of caries before they begin to give symptoms, reducing the necessary conservative intervention!

Some patients at this age begin to manifest signs and symptoms of periodontitis: once commonly known as pyorrhea, this disease of periodontal tissues begins by undermining gum health and proceeds quietly. Our multidisciplinary team of dentists and dental hygienists has been implementing for years the DENTAL PREVENTION PROJECT for periodontitis: our team takes care of the early diagnosis of gum disease before it starts to give symptoms, reducing the necessary intervention and saving the teeth instead of extracting them!

Patients in this period of life begin to appreciate aesthetic improvements of their smile! This is a very common request at our clinics, and we offer the following methods to improve the aesthetics of the smile:

. veneers applied on the teeth: in one day you can rediscover the beauty of your smile!

. alignment with a transparent device: our Doctor Elettra Chisci, orthodontics specialist, can align the teeth and bring light on your smile!

. Dental whitening: our hygienists are professionals of dental beauty! for each smile there is a specific whitening that can rediscover the true white of your teeth!
Our entire team is constantly updated in terms of aesthetic improvements and based on the dental examination is formulated the best method to return to smiling

The lack of teeth in adult patients is unfortunately a frequent condition. Tooth loss is a traumatic experience and a serious life event that can have important psychological and social consequences and require significant interventions. The loss of anterior teeth is associated with a major mutilation of the smile of adults, while the loss of a posterior tooth begins to impair the chewing capacity and overload the residual teeth. For this reason we encourage the prosthetic rehabilitation of missing teeth trying to bring a fixed teeth in the oral cavity of patients. A fixed tooth similar to the one that was lost is the best prosthetic solution: for this reason we use dental implants to replace lost teeth.

Adulthood is sometimes associated with the appearance of precancerous lesions of the oral cavity which, if properly diagnosed, allow to save the mouth and also the life of patients. Risk factors include tobacco smoking, alcohol abuse, malnutrition, poor diet of fresh fruits and vegetables, poor oral hygiene, several infectious agents such as Candida, Epstein Barr virus, hepatitis C virus, Papillomavirus. Also important are alcohol-tobacco association and the presence of precancerous conditions. Finally, an important role played in the determinism of oral cancers is that of spoiled habits such as chewing tobacco and the presence of chronic traumatic factors.
To make a proper dental examination and information to the patient, Dr Chisci Glauco adheres every year to the Oral Cancer Day initiative promoted by professional associations, and all the staff is highly aware of this issue. The possibility of removing or diagnosing oral lesions allows a strong diagnosis and a correct framing of the patient.
